I've ordered an Aston Martin Vantage GT8, due for delivery towards the end of this year!

My first serious sports car was the V8 Vantage Roadster in 2010 and I've always had a strong connection to the model as a result. When I heard whispers earlier in the year of a focused version that would be arriving soon with characteristics of the GTE car and styling along the lines of the GT12, it was not a hard decision to place a deposit. Fortunately that car was revealed in April as the Vantage GT8 and has lived up in every way to my hopes and expectations.

With the option for a manual gearbox, combined with the aero kit and titanium exhaust, this is a true car to take out and enjoy driving. Whether it will fit in my garage alongside my Cayman GT4 or be a replacement I do not know yet (I'm a big fan of the GT4) - what I do know is that it will be a special car on every drive.

I'll do my best to take you on the journey through the ordering process and ultimately to delivery with Aston Martin, especially with a model that is highly limited to just 150 units.

We get started on this journey with my first opportunity to take a look at the GT8 in detail during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. I join Aston Martin's Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, for a run up the FOS hillclimb on board something I can only describe as one of the best sounding cars of all time.

I look forward to sharing this GT8 adventure with you from here!

Thanks for watching, Tim

Subscribe: http://bit.ly/Shmee150YT
Website: http://www.shmee150.com
Facebook: http://www.fb.com/shmee150
Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/shmee150
